Following an error with English workforce, Manchester United, the preliminary 2021 UEFA Champions League Round of 16 draw has been declared null and void.
After a “materials error” that left Manchester United out of a portion of the draw, the UEFA Champions League spherical of 16 draw has been declared null and void.
At round 15:00 CET, the round of 16 shall be completely redone.
“A cloth error occurred within the draw for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 on account of a technical malfunction with the software program of an exterior service supplier that notifies the officers as to which clubs are certified to face one another,” UEFA acknowledged in a press release.
A tweet on the official UEFA Twitter web page reads,
“Following a technical downside with the software program of an exterior service provider that instructs the officers as to which groups are eligible to play one another, a fabric error occurred within the draw for the UEFA Champions League Spherical of 16.
“Because of this, the draw has been ruled null and void, and it is going to be fully redrawn at 1500 CET.”
